Harry Potter

Can I just say, I absolutely LOVE these books? They are truly what got me reading as an adult. I have never been much of a reader and unfortunately read quite slowly. Yes, I got good grades in school, but I had to WORK for them!
In my spare time (whilst cartoons buzz in the background for kiddos) I have found a bit of refuge re-reading this series (finished re-reading the Twilight series recently too) -allowing my brain to take a few moments off and visit a different world. Thank you, JK Rowling. : )

I love her descriptive writing. My favorite parts of the books are of Hogwarts and the magical things that happen there, and with the students and teachers. A little later on, when it involves Voldemort and warring, I kind of lose interest, but she is a phenomenal writer and you can lose yourself in them. I should reread them, too!

Amen! I love Harry. Don't you feel like you know the characters and care about what happens to them? Good stuff. I love J.K.Rowling's imagination!

I agree, I love reading, always have. However, I have closure issues and cannot bring myself to read the final Harry Potter or the final Twilight. I can't stand the thought of it being over, so as long as I don't read that last book, it's not really over right?!!!
BTW- Thanks for adding my craft blog to your friends list- Luff you!

I too love Harry Potter!! They are the best books. I also like Twilight but Harry Potter is my favorite of the two. J.K. Rawlings is soooo talented. :)

Don't you get so sad when people REFUSE to read Harry just because he's so popular... they are seriously, seriously missing out. I once almost got in a car accident because I was reading the books- could NOT put it down even to drive- AND I started crying. Reading, crying, and driving don't mix... but I couldn't help it. I just love Harry!

:-) I'm contemplating buying the whole hardcover set. It's beautiful, but expensive.

I love these posts because I always feel a little sheepish when I'm sitting in the park with my well-worn personal copy looking like a ravenous reader, ignoring my children putting sand in their pockets and ripping off their shoes and socks in spite of the nippiness so I can get my daily quota of tween fantasy. Oh Harry Potter is the greatest! (And I'm pretty dang fond of Twilight too!)
